The reservations office is situated in the Kaiserliche Landesvermessung building on the corner of John Meinert and Motte Streets, diagonally opposite the Kudu Statue in Independence Avenue (main street).
Reservation and cashier hours: Mondays to Fridays 08h00 to 15h00
Information hours: Mondays to Fridays 08h00 to 17h00
Written applications will be accepted up to 18 months in advance.
Applications should include :
1. ID or passport number, full address, home and office telephone and fax numbers.
2. Type of accomodation required.
3. Dates of arrival and departures - also give alternate dates.
4. Number of adults and number and ages of chidren.
A conditional reservation form is sent off once a person has reserved accommodation and the full amount then has to be paid before the due date indicated on the form, failing which, the reservation automatically lapses. Payment must be made immediately, if accommodation is to be taken up less than 25 days from the date of reservation. Deposits can be made direct to Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Standard Bank Windhoek. Account number 043196675; Branch number 00237200; Swift Code SBNMNANX; Credit card payments by phone can also be made (Visa, Master and Diners). Tariffs are subject to change without notice. APART FROM ACCOMMODATION FEES, ENTRANCE FEES ARE PAYABLE ON ARRIVAL AT THE REST-CAMP CONCERNED.
Entry permits are available on arrival at rest-camps with the exception of those for Naukluft, Terrace Bay and Torra Bay. Permits to these camps can only be obtained at the reservations office in Windhoek. Entry permits for the Namib section of the Namib-Naukluft Park can be obtained at the reservations office in Windhoek or at the tourist offices in Lüderitz, Hardap, Swakopmund and at Sesriem as well as at certain service stations in Walvis Bay and Swakopmund.
Proof of reservation and receipt must be produced on arrival at rest-camps. Please book well in advance. Telephonic bookings can be made 11 months ahead while written application will be accepted up to 18 months in advance.
Cancellations : Accommodation fees will only be refunded if the cancellation is made and the original receipt is produced at least 10 days before the starting date. Handling fees in the event of cancellations are as follows:
1. 10% of original fee will be charged if cancelled more than 29 days before the first day of occupancy.
2. 20% of original fee will be charged if cancelled between 10 and 29 days before the first day of occupancy.
3. No refund will be made if cancelled less then 1 0 days before the first day of occupancy.
4. Claims must be accompanied by the original receipt.
Alterations and cancellations will be accepted up to 10 days before the first day of occupancy.
NB : The first day of occupancy is from 12h00 on the first date (arrival date) which appears on the booking form.
Limitation on duration of reservation: During the school holidays the period of sojourn in the Etosha National Park is limited to three nights per camp and at all other camps to ten nights.
Accommodation may only be occupied after 12h00 on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10h00 on the day of departure.
Inventories, at the back of doors, must be controlled.
Camping and caravan sites must also be reserved in advance.
