AI-AIS HOT SPRINGS

Picture THE PLACE :
Ai-Ais, meaning Burning Water in the local language, refers to the sulphurous hot water springs which well from the earth. This is the ideal place for sightseeing, backpacking or even angling.

WHERE :
Ai-Ais lies at the southern end of the Fish River conservation area. From the main B1 route turn west on the C10 just south of Grünau. Ai-Ais lies 73km along this road. A landing strip is available for fly-in guests 11km from the resort, but landing and transport arrangements have to be made in advance.

ACCOMMODATION :
Visitors have a choice of accommodation. Luxury flats containing a double and two single beds, a kitchen with refridgerator, kettle and hot plate, and a bathroom with a bath, shower, basin and toilet. There is a built-in fireplace on the balcony overlooking the Fish River.
The standard flats have four single beds and a kitchen with fridge, kettle and hot plate, and a bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet.
Near the entrance to the resort are huts with four single beds and a kitchen, but guests have to share ablution facilities.
There is also a camp site with communal ablution facilities and a field kitchen.

FACILITIES :
The main attraction is the spa complex, but there is also a restaurant, filling station, outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts.

Day visitors are admitted from sunrise to sunset, but must leave the rest-camp before 23:00. Overnight visitors with reserved accommodation may enter at any time of the night, but may not leave the rest-camp between 23:00 and 06:00

Large groups must book restaurant meals at least 24 hours in advance.

Restaurant hours: 07h00 to 09h00; 12h00 to 14h00; 18h00 to 22h00.

Meal times: 07h00 to 08h30; 12h00 to 13h30; 18h00 to 20h30

No pets allowed, kennels at gate; owners have to care for them.
