Abstract:

First order weather records for Gobabeb station. Records are recorded on an ongoing process.

Records transmitted at 08h00, 14h00, 20h00. Data is recorded app.15min before they are transmitted. GPS readings for the recording station: 23. 33.377S and 15.02.294E . The Gobabeb research station is situated 80km SE of Walvis bay. Data from autographic fog and rain also available from 1970 onward. None of these data records have been computerized yet, however, computerization is planned in near future.

Purpose:

To provide weather summary for Gobabeb. data is transmitted daily for national weather forecast. Data also used for Southern African forecast. This data is send to the Windhoek meteorological office three times a day.
