Description:

Abstract:

Scientific study on elephant and giraffe with detailed studies on individual animals. Data from 1981 1998 were obtained from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism records. Data from the 1998 - current (2002) are collected by the Namibia's Elephant and Giraffe Trust. 

High-Refer sampling and analysis standards are employed to guide on the research.

Frequency of sampling: Bi-monthly - during the wet season it is impossible to survey and surveys commence again when vains abate.

Purpose:

The data set is used in monitoring the elephants and giraffe population and distribution in North-East Namibia

Supplemental_Information:

The data is collected in close cooperation with the Desert Research Foundation of Namibia (DRFN), more specifically the with NAPCOD.
