ID notes: A cattlepost is a seasonal kraal. Cattleposts were mapped to determine the extent of settlement on/near to the

boundary of Etosha & around Efoetalala (proposed holding camp). The Wildlife Protection Service of the

Directorate of Resource Management collected GPS points and recorded data onto information sheets which were

inputted into the GIS by NNEP. Other sources of data: DRM Okaukeujo, NNEP & DRM staff, Ongwediva.



The eastern half of ENP boundary was last updated in May 1999 and the western half in July 1999.



A similar dataset in the restricted section contains the names of cattlepost owners.
