The GIS layers range from
infrastructure data such as roads, settlements and utilities to thematic
data on various aspects of the physical environment such as land use,
soils, vegetation and water.
For each GIS dataset there are
accompanying metadata files which can be viewed or downloaded as html
files.
The GIS layers are stored as "shape"
files. To display these files you need software such as ArcView or
ArcExplorer
(ESRI's free GIS data browser).
In the interests of
promoting the widespread availability we would encourage you to share
any updated or improved data sets with us.
No data may be sold in its
existing form and the source of data should always be credited.
