The Cleaner Production (CP) Component

The Government of Namibia and the Danish International Development Assistance (DANIDA) have agreed to co-operate to promote and support Cleaner Production n Namibia. This co-operation has led to the implementation of the Cleaner Production Component in Namibia which commenced on 17th January 2005 until 2007. The component has four objectives as follows:


1. Namibian manufacturing and services industry have increasedawareness of the benefits of cleaner production potential

2. Regulatory function within cleaner production in institutionally well founded and effective in promoting the concept


3. Cleaner production applied in selected manufacturing and services industries (on a demonstration basis)

4. Regulators, industry and service providers capacitated to play their roles in promoting the concept on a sustainable basis
