The data available here were collected by the Environmental Profiles Project for the publication An Environmental Profile and Atlas of Caprivi.

Data are generally available in zipped ArcView shapefiles, and/or in Excel spreadsheet files. In most cases there is descriptive documentation describing each data set listed. There is also a single document which contains the information on all datasets, plus some additional information (223 KB; PDF).

Note that some of these shapefiles have been projected using the following projection parameters:

• Projection: Albers equal area

• Spheroid: Bessel

• Origin/Central Meridian: 23E

• Reference Latitude: 19S

• Standard Parallel 1: 19S

• Standard Parallel 2: 17S

Some other data sets, such as river levels, flow volumes and flooding levels, are not listed here but are available with permission from the original source; these are described in the descriptive document mentioned above.
