The Ministry of Environment and Tourism together with its partners kicked start awareness activities towards the National Clean Up Day with a cleaning campaign and awareness session with motorists and travelers at the Windhoek Okahandja Roadblock on 08 August 2019.
Participant from the Ministry, Tourism Supporting Conservation - TOSCO Trust, Rent-A-Drum, Plastic Packaging, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology -...and Recycle Namibia Forum picked up litter alongside the Windhoek Okahandja Road while also passing information regarding the planned National Clean Up Day.
The National Clean Up Day is scheduled to take place on 21 September country wide. Member of the public and all sectors of our country are encouraged to take part in this activity which aimed at insuring that the country is free of waste pollution.
The group's spokesperson Romeo Muyunda Lee further urged Namibians to dispose waste in manner that does not pollute the environment. Anyone who want to offer support towards the National Clean Up Day should contact the Ministry of Environment and Tourism or the nearest regional Council.
