INVITATION FOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES
CONSULTANCY 1
BACKGROUND
The Indigenous Peoples Development Plan (IPDP) of the Integrated
Community-based Ecosystem Management (ICEMA) Project in Namibia
was developed, because indigenous people are likely to be affected
by the project. The main objective of the IPDP is to assure that
the dignity, rights and culture of the indigenous population
are respected in the ICEMA project areas and assure that the
indigenous people benefit equally or higher than other groups
from the project.
Experienced Consultants are invited to apply for the Annual External
Review of the Indigenous Peoples Development Plan for the ICEMA
Project.
This is a part-time consultancy service of about 10 days per year
over a four year period.
Objective
The objective of this assignment is to establish an annual external
review of the implementation process of the IPDP and to review/verify/check
if an adequate monitoring is put in place by the ICEMA-PO and
others.
CONSULTANCY 2
BACKGROUND
The ICEMA project is seeking the services of a Wildlife Management
Specialist to assist with an activity which aims to increase
the populations and range of a number of high-value wildlife
species. This shall include the establishment of breeding camps
for selected species. The project aims to enable communal conservancies
to economically benefit from the high value game industry. Applicants
should be self-motivated and intimately familiar with the game
production industry in Namibia and southern Africa. Ten or more
years of experience in practical application of game production
and wildlife management is required while familiarity with Namibia's
conservancy programme shall be an added advantage. This is a
two year part-time position which involve about 180 - 200 days.
