2.1 Protected Areas and Wildlife Management Bill
The Ordinance is currently being revised and will be repealed by the Protected Areas and Wildlife Management Act.


2.2 National Policy on Protected Areas, Neighbours and Resident Community
The aim of the Policy is to improve conservation of Namibia’s protected areas, provide greater social equity in the distribution of benefits from protected areas and stimulate local and regional economies through creating business opportunities linked to protected areas. Where it is in the interests of improved conservation and promotion of national development goals, the government will work closely with neighbours, community resident in the parks or other relevant stakeholders, giving particular attention to promoting their socio-economic development and their involvement in the planning and development of the protected areas.
