Maintenance Division
The core functions of the Maintenance Division include:
· Maintenance of infrastructure such as fences, roads, buildings, water installations.
· Maintenance of vehicles, plant and operational equipment such as earth moving equipment, generators, pumps, solar installations.
· General technical services to the Ministry.
Our vision is:
· To keep the infrastructure and equipment in and outside the protected areas in a good condition
· To provide planned and unplanned maintenance services effectively and efficiently
· To maintain infrastructure and equipment in a sustainable and preventative manner
The capacity of the Maintenance Division includes:
· The Subdivision Maintenance has more than 100 staff members working at 2 main maintenance stations in Windhoek and Etosha National Park and 2 satellite maintenance stations in Rundu and Swakopmund.
· To maintain infrastructure the Subdivision Maintenance operates more than 7 graders, 5 trucks, 3 loaders, 2 lowbed trucks and 15 vehicles.
· To maintain vehicles and operational equipment the subdivision operates 3 workshops at Windhoek, Etosha and Swakopmund.

· Training
· Regular road maintenance trainings are conducted with support of InWEnt
· Regular equipment maintenance trainings are conducted with support of BOSCH Germany
· Equipment
· The MET’s maintenance division shall receive still in 2010 new heavy equipment such as graders, tipper trucks, loader from the Millennium Challenge Account Namibia (MCA-N)
· Infrastructure Databank
· A comprehensive infrastructure and equipment databank is under preparation which will be based on a GIS software and include a maintenance plan
